Uniteam is a leading supplier of Gas Safe Shelter Products, both for the oil and gas industry and for the defense market.

The Uniteam Gas Safe Shelter Products are used all over the world and perform in all kind of climatic conditions. The basic ?foundations of the products were developed in 1996 in cooperation with The Royal Norwegian Air Force. The challenge then was the design and production of a complete gas safe military airbase.?

The structure of the Gas Safe Shelter buildings is based on special designed ISO containers which are joined together with a unique gas safe gasket system. Uniteam have delivered buildings over 1250 m2.? And have in principle no problem making even larger buildings.

All container solutions from Uniteam can be made gas safe. By taking advantages of this our clients save space and money by having buildings which serves as canteens, offices, workshops etc. under normal conditions and, if gas is detected, the building automatically turns into a Gas Safe Shelter. The buildings can be insulated for any climatic conditions and have a sloping roof installed.

The protection against H2S (hydrogen sulphide) is particularly challenging. The gas is extremely poisonous and at concentrations over 1000 ppm you die immediately. Uniteam Gas Safe Shelters are some times designed to handle H2S concentrations over 25 000 ppm!!

It is the international oil and gas industry which are increasingly facing the problem of high levels of H2S in the oil wells. In situation with extreme levels of H2S and highly explosive hydrocarbon gases filters on the intake air is not enough. In such situations the air intake is automatically closed and the HVAC system is set in a recirculation mode. The air is then taken through CO2 filters in addition to the H2S filters.

In addition to this a bottle bank with stored air supplies the gas safe shelter with additional air in order to keep the over pressure. The Uniteam Gas Safe Shelter Products also provide protection against nuclear contaminants and biological and chemical agents (NBC protection).
